Taiwan Quilt Festival – Taipei – November 2025

Last year I had 2 big adventures to quilt festivals in Asia:

The Kyoto Quilt Festival in March 2025, and the Taiwan Quilt Festival in November 2025.

I hope that by now you have had a look at my article about the Taiwan Quilt Festival, in issue 129 of Quilting Arts Magazine.

You can also see photos of my solo gallery, and other quilt exhibits at this event in Taipei in November 2025.

Besides the quilt exhibit, there was the joy of seeing friends from all over Asia. For many years I went to the Tokyo Quilt Festival to photograph the quilts, including the last one in January 2020, just as the pandemic began. You can see more of my photos from Tokyo over the years in this collection.

On setup day in Taipei, I was delighted to see many Japanese friends who I had met earlier in the year at the Kyoto Quilt Festival.

After doing a demo in the BERNINA booth the next day….

…I enjoyed a wonderful Buddhist vegan meal with the Bernina local staff.

I gave a lecture on “International Quilt Trends” –

…and it was a delight to share images of 200 quilts from quilt festivals and museum exhibits around the world, from the previous 12 months. I gave the lecture in English and it was translated into Mandarin Chinese for the local audience.

On the day of the outdoor Quilt Parade, we all gathered outside the Cultural Events Center building, including friends from Korea.

They let me pick out a quilt to carry in the parade.

Everyone picked up a quilt and began to line up.
